Dividend cheque sent to an old address

If a dividend cheque went to an old address, the registrar holds your record. Update your address through the registrar's official site, then ask for the payment to be reissued. Equiniti runs a dividend reissue request. MUFG and Computershare have shareholder and contact pages you can use.

    Do this first: official routes

    1. Update your address with the registrar through its official site. MUFG: shareholder services (UK) Computershare: contact us Shareview: help and contact
    2. Ask for a reissue. Equiniti has a dividend reissue request and a dividend support page. Equiniti: dividend reissue request Shareview: dividend support
    3. Ask the registrar about any fee before you pay anything.

    Then use the free finder

Type the old company name into the Old Shares Finder. It is free and stores nothing.

    Watch out for scams

Be wary of anyone who contacts you out of the blue about your shares. Never pay upfront to release money. Check any firm on the FCA register. FCA: ScamSmart FCA Financial Services Register

    Questions

Can an old dividend cheque be reissued?

How do I change my address with a registrar?

Use the registrar's official site. Find the contact details yourself rather than using a link or number from a message you weren't expecting.

What if I've moved more than once?

Tell the registrar every address you've lived at since you held the shares. The finder's letter has a place for your old and current addresses.
